Assertiveness Workshop

It amazes me that most of us are required to take trigonometry in school, but we're not required to take a basic communication class, when communication is something that we all have to do on a DAILY basis. Healthy communication is at the core of all relationships, and unfortunately unless we were lucky to have amazing role models for this, most of us didn't grow up learning how to communicate in assertive, healthy ways.

In this assertiveness workshop, you will learn:

• What assertive communication is.
• How assertive communication is different from passive, passive-aggressive, and aggressive communication.
• Why and how being assertive is not the same as being mean or unkind.
• Skills and tools for being more assertive in your relationships.
• How to work through your anxieties about being assertive with others.

Format:
- The workshop is 3 hours long and consists of teaching, Q&A, exercises, and discussion.
- The workshop will be capped at 10 people.
- There will be separate workshops for students and non-students / adults.
- All workshops will be held virtually on a secure platform.
